An Open Letter To Our PasaBuyers
Dear PasaBuyers,
Five years. Five incredible years of pasabuy boxes traveling from our little corner of the US to your homes in the Philippines. Five years of carefully picking items, wrapping them with care, and sending them across the miles with love. When I think about it, it feels surreal how much has happened in these years, how much joy we have shared, and how much your support has carried us through.
Sending pasabuy boxes consistently is not as simple as it may look. There were days when I was heavily pregnant and could not lift boxes without feeling like my back might give out. There were moments when we were mourning the loss of a little one before our rainbow baby arrived, and even opening the packing tape felt too heavy to bear. There were long days spent running store visits, whether at Costco, outlet stores, or superstores, hunting for items you requested. Every trip, every careful choice of products, was made with you in mind.
I think about all the messages you have sent over the years. One customer wrote that the moment she opened her box, she felt like she was opening a gift from home, and it made her entire week brighter. Another told me that our pasabuy box inspired her to start a small reselling business of her own. Those words were fuel during the long hours of packing, labeling, and preparing shipments. You have allowed us to be part of your lives in small but meaningful ways, and for that I will always be grateful.
To our wonderful resellers, thank you for trusting us to help you bring imported US finds to your customers. I still remember the first reseller who placed an order with so much excitement that she stayed on the phone with me while I helped her pick items. She later sent me a photo of her first sale and said it was all thanks to us. Those moments make all the effort worth it. Your hard work, trust, and enthusiasm have built a community that continues to grow stronger every year.
I also want to share something close to my heart. Even though most of you are in the Philippines, I always feel connected to the experience of OFWs who send balikbayan boxes to their families. I know that feeling because I used to be one. I know the mix of excitement and care that goes into every shipment, and how each box carries more than just products. It carries thoughtfulness, effort, and love. Even now that I am no longer an OFW, every pasabuy box I prepare carries that same feeling of connection, as if I am still sending a little piece of the US to someone waiting with excitement back home.
There were funny and memorable moments, too. Like the time I ordered the wrong variation of an item and had to message a customer to confirm if they wanted to keep it, only for them to say, “Okay na, Ma’am, mas maganda pala yan!” Or when I would spend hours comparing prices during store visits, double-checking promo racks, and finding unexpected gems that made customers extra happy. These little moments reminded me that this journey is not just about sending items but about creating joy along the way.
Through pregnancies, losses, long days of store visits, and the careful process of packing each box, your trust kept us going. To our customers looking for US bags, watches, shoes, clothes, or perfume at an affordable price, your excitement for each find made every trip and every moment of preparation worthwhile. You showed us that the little things from faraway places can bring joy, and that connection matters more than anything.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Thank you for supporting us through thick and thin, for trusting us to deliver joy to your doorstep, and for letting us be part of your lives. Every box sent is more than just items. It is a bridge, a reminder of home, a shared story, and a celebration of community, love, and care.
Here is to the next five years. To more pasabuy boxes, more surprises, more laughter, and more connection. We could not have done it without you, and we are forever grateful.
With all my heart,
Signed,
Jalyn
